• The purple electrode is an excellent choice for both direct current (DC) and alternating current (AC) TIG welding on all materials. The purple electrode is ideal for both DC and AC welding of unalloyed and alloyed steels, aluminium, titanium, nickel and magnesium alloys. The purple electrode boasts excellent ignition, durability, and a low thermal load, offering a long lifespan and high current carrying capacity. Thanks to its good ignition properties, the violet electrode is also ideal for automatic welding.
• The green electrode contains pure tungsten and is completely free of additives. The green electrode is specifically designed for AC welding of aluminium alloys. The green electrode has a very stable arc. Green electrodes cannot be used for direct current (DC) welding.
• The red electrode is designed for high quality direct current (DC) TIG welding on both structural and stainless steel (SS). With the red electrode, the arc ignites and burns perfectly and the electrodes have a long lifespan. Red Thorium alloy electrodes are very popular among welders. Please note that the red electrodes contain Thorium (2%), a radioactive metal. Red electrodes must be kept in their storage box and the grinding dust must not enter the respiratory tract.
